The Centre for Cultural Futures Canada is:
- Federally registered as a non-profit corporation. Our corporation number is 1719459-5. Our federal business number is 780840237RC0001.
- Provincially registered in Alberta as a Extra-Provincial Non-Profit, allowing us to operate our headquarters within Alberta; our registration number is 5327449103.
- Not yet a charitable organization. We are currently in the process of preparing and submitting our charitable status application to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). This process requires careful definition of our charitable purposes and programs to ensure full compliance with federal regulations. As a result, financial and in-kind made at this stage are not eligible for charitable tax receipts. If and when our charitable status is granted, we will clearly communicate this update to our community.
Can I set up recurring contributions or automatic renewal?
Yes. You may choose to set up a recurring monthly or annual donation, or enable automatic renewal for memberships or subscriptions where applicable. All recurring payments are:
- Securely managed through Stripe
- Fully automated
- Viewable and adjustable at any time through your Member & Customer Portal
How do I update my credit card or billing information?
You can update your billing details at any time through your secure Member & Customer Portal. For security reasons, our team never sees or accesses your full credit card information. If you experience difficulty, we can assist with access support only.
What happens if my payment fails or my card expires?
If a payment fails or your card expires:
Stripe will automatically attempt secure retries
You may receive a notice requesting updated payment information
Your membership, donation, or registration will remain in good standing during the retry period
If payment issues persist, our team may reach out to help resolve the issue.
Will I receive an invoice or receipt for my membership, donation, or registration?
Yes. Digital invoices and receipts are issued automatically for:
Memberships
Program or event registrations
Donations and non-charitable contributions
Receipts can be:
Emailed directly to you
Downloaded anytime from your Member & Customer Portal
Please contact us at accounting@culturalfutures.ca if you have not received your receipt nor can view it in the Portal.
Are memberships, registrations, and contributions tax-receiptable?
At this time, the Centre for Cultural Futures Canada is not yet a registered charity, and therefore cannot issue charitable tax receipts. This applies to all financial and in-kind contributions. We are actively working toward charitable status and will update our community if and when this changes. This does not mean that the Centre for Cultural Futures does not accept support for its programs and operations
The Centre for Cultural Futures Canada is committed to strong financial governance, transparency, and responsible stewardship of all funds entrusted to us. Our financial systems and decision-making processes are guided by formal policies approved by our Board of Directors.
Oversight and approvals are structured as follows:
The Finance Committee of the Board is responsible for ongoing oversight of the organization’s financial health, reporting, and internal controls
Two authorized signing officers of the Board are required to approve payments, electronic transfers, and significant financial transactions
Staff are responsible for the administration of approved expenses, including processing invoices, maintaining records, and preparing financial reports.
All transactions are recorded and managed through our secure accounting system (Zoho Books)
This separation between oversight, authorization, and administration ensures accountability, reduces risk, and reflects best practices in non-profit financial governance. While our detailed financial policies are maintained internally, this governance structure ensures that no single individual has unilateral control over financial decisions.
